AIE Game Jam - SUPERNOT
Today we finished a game jam. Lo and behold - SUPERNOT. This is exactly what happens when you have no game title and someone makes a really God awful pun, but I digress. Up to four players compete in this free for all death match, using time manipulation to strategically plan their offensive and evasive maneuvers. As it is in SUPERHOT, time only moves forward when the player moves, though in this case the time dilation is limited to a bubble surrounding the player.
The red platforms are weapon dispensers that spawn pistols, SMGs, assault rifles, shotguns, and RPGs. Due to the fast paced nature of game-play, players are constantly swapping out weapons whenever the “out of ammo” icon flashes above their heads. A noteworthy “feature” (ahem) is the way the bullets destroy each other on collision.
My primary role during this jam was to be the level and UI designer.
