Vertical Slice - Half Breed

The goal of this project was to create a narrative driven vertical slice. The scene I have created depicts the protagonist following the trail of destruction left by the antagonist through a school. Primarily I used in-game text to establish the narrative, and second to that, the flow of the devastation. Each is used to guide the player through the scene.

After positioning all the tables, chairs, and computer assets within a room, I spent some time experimenting with explosion force to achieve greater accuracy in their distribution. Once satisfied I was able to make a prefab of the asset's positioning, which I then used for minor alterations. Using Unity physics I was able to achieve a similar outcome for the human remains, creating a horrific scene of death and destruction. I then added lighting and particle effects to emphasize the emotional intensity, with the intent being to put the player on-edge - to draw out their sense of unease in anticipation of a looming boss battle just up ahead.

Whilst most assets were sourced from the Unity Asset Store, I'd like to credit myself for the student and teacher's desks, the health potion, lockers, and janitor's bucket. Well done Daniel.
